The first time I met Mr Shahnawaz Rasheed was after he had already operated on me following an operation where he was called in by a colleague to remove some diseased bowel. I am so thankful that he was available to help me. Since then, he has operated on me again and at all times he has been calm, clear, open and very caring. Mr Rasheed is able to articulate difficult subjects in a way that makes you feel that everything will be ok whilst helping you to understand the seriousness of your situation. He draws great pictures to explain what the situation is and what will be happening, some of which I have kept for posterity! He even delayed a family holiday to operate on means I trust him implicitly, as he takes the time to get to know his patients so that when we are on his operating table and he needs to make decisions, he knows what we would want him to do. I cannot recommend him highly enough.
